Review of the Oster Bread Maker with Expressbake Setting

One of the things that I love about the Oster bread machine is its versatility. With a range of settings and options, you can use it to make a variety of breads, from basic white bread to artisanal sourdough. One of my favorite settings is the Expressbake setting, which lets you make a 2-pound loaf of bread in just under an hour.

You can choose from two different loaf sizes no matter what setting you choose, in fact. The machine comes with a booklet with plenty of bread recipes, and all include instructions for a 2-pound loaf of bread and a 1-pound loaf of bread. You can also change the settings to adjust the crust color, so if you prefer crust that is very light and doughy, the Oster can help you achieve it. Want something darker and crustier? You can adjust the crust color to make your ideal loaf of bread, too.

The machine also has a delay timer, which allows you to set it to start baking at a later time, so you can wake up to the smell of fresh bread in the morning or have a loaf ready when you get home from work.

Another thing that I appreciate about the Oster bread machine is its ease of use. The control panel is straightforward and intuitive, with clear instructions and a display that shows you the progress of the bread-making process.

The machine also comes with a detailed instruction manual that includes a variety of recipes to help you get started. It has a vast array of bread recipes, from whole wheat bread to French bread to raisin bread to an Italian herbed bread loaf that I wholeheartedly recommend. If you want to make gluten-free bread, you can also do that with this Oster Expressbake Bread Maker.

The bread machine also comes with a nonstick pan and kneading blade, plus a double-sided measuring spoon and a measuring cup. These measuring tools are just the right size for the recipes that come with the machine, so it’s easy for novice bakers to get their bread baking correctly.

It’s important to note that the baking pan and the kneading blade are hand-wash only, and they do tend to scratch easily. You’ll want to proceed with caution when washing them. Don’t use an abrasive sponge to get them clean.

The most important part of a bread maker review, of course, is the reviewer’s assessment of the quality of the bread. When it comes to the taste of the bread that the Oster bread machine produces, the machine does not disappoint. The bread that comes out of the Oster bread machine is moist, fluffy, and delicious, with a crispy crust and a soft, airy interior.

Whether you're making a simple sandwich loaf or a more complex artisanal bread, the results are always impressive.

I love this machine. I love its viewing window, which lets me take a peek as the dough is pushed around inside the loaf pan. I love how few buttons its has, how easy it is to change crust settings, and how many different bread recipes you can easily make. I love that this is among the cheapest of my kitchen appliances, but that it saved my family more money than nearly any other investment to our countertop lineup.

I have not tried any products from competitors like Breville, Hamilton Beach, Cuisinart, Breadman, or Zojirushi, but I think the Oster is one of the best bread machines money can buy. Who cares if its exterior is white plastic and not stainless steel? Who cares if it beeps really loudly and the bread maker machine doesn’t have a nut dispenser? This machine has the bread settings most people need to make their own bread and be satisfied, from the first loaf and beyond.

Overall, I am extremely impressed with the Oster bread machine. Its versatility, ease of use, and delicious results make it a valuable addition to any kitchen. If you love the taste and smell of freshly baked bread, I highly recommend giving the Oster bread machine a try.

Oster Bread Maker White Bread Recipe

Now that you’ve read my product review, it’s time to talk about some of the types of bread you can make with the world’s best bread maker! Here is a simple and delicious recipe for white bread that you can make in an Oster bread maker:

Instructions:

  2. Select the "white bread" setting on the bread maker and press start.

  3. Allow the bread maker to complete the entire baking cycle. Total bake time is about 3 hours.

  4. When the baking cycle is complete, remove the bread from the machine and let it cool on a wire rack.

  5. Once the bread has cooled, slice and serve. Enjoy!

Note: You can also add ingredients such as dried herbs, garlic, or cheese to the bread dough to give it additional flavor. Experiment and see what you like best!

How to Store Homemade Bread

Are you wondering how best to store homemade, fresh bread like the kind from your Oster machine?

The best way to store homemade bread that you make in a bread machine is to let it cool completely on a wire rack after it comes out of the machine. Once the bread is completely cool, you can store it in an airtight container or plastic bag at room temperature for up to 3-4 days.

If you want to store the bread for longer, you can also wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and then place it in a freezer-safe bag or container. Frozen bread will keep for up to 3 months. To thaw frozen bread, simply remove it from the freezer and let it thaw at room temperature.

Another option is to slice the bread and then store it in the freezer. This is a good option if you don't plan to eat the entire loaf at once, as it allows you to thaw only the number of slices that you need. To freeze sliced bread, place the slices on a baking sheet in a single layer and then freeze until they are solid. Once frozen, transfer the slices to a freezer-safe bag or container. Frozen sliced bread will keep for up to 3 months.

In general, it's best to avoid storing bread in the refrigerator, as this can cause it to become stale and hard. If you need to store the bread in the fridge, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or place it in an airtight container, and be sure to use it within a few days.

What Else Can you Make With the Oster Bread Maker Machine?

While the Oster bread maker is primarily designed for making bread, you can also use it to make a variety of other dishes, including pizza dough, bagels, cinnamon rolls, and even cakes and cookies.

To make pizza dough in the Oster bread maker, simply combine the ingredients (flour, yeast, salt, sugar, and water) in the bread pan and then select the "dough" setting. The bread maker will mix and knead the dough for you, and when the cycle is complete, you can remove the dough and shape it into a pizza crust. Allow the crust to rise for about 20 minutes, and then add your favorite toppings and bake in the oven at 400°F for about 15-20 minutes.

To make cinnamon rolls in the Oster bread maker, you can use the same dough recipe as for pizza crust, but instead of shaping the dough into a crust, roll it out into a rectangle and spread it with a mixture of butter, sugar, and cinnamon. Roll the dough up into a log and slice it into individual rolls. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for about 20 minutes. Then bake them in the oven at 400°F for about 15-20 minutes.

To make cakes and cookies in the Oster bread maker, you can use a basic cake or cookie dough recipe and follow the instructions in your recipe book or the instruction manual for the bread maker. Most cake and cookie recipes can be made using the "dough" setting on the bread maker, and then baked in the oven according to the recipe instructions.

Overall, the Oster bread maker is a versatile and convenient appliance that can help you make a wide range of dishes, beyond just bread. It's a great way to save time and effort in the kitchen, and the results are always delicious.
