Find inspiration in the everyday.
Happy Saturday, friends! I hope you're having a good one so far.
For me, the day is going REALLY well. I finally have my website up and running!
Sweet Frivolity has been a concrete dream of mine for a little over a year, but the idea of being an entrepreneur and exploring my creativity to its fullest extent has been with me for most of my life. Until more recently, though, I hadn't known just how to make my dream a reality.
First, a little background. My name is Danielle, and I love to create. From crafting to cooking to redecorating and everything in between, I am happiest when I'm thinking outside the box.
I work in publishing, and I love the Oxford comma as much as the next editor. By the end of the day, though, the tight restraints of the Chicago Manual of Style often prove a bit too structured for me, and I need a creative pursuit to unwind.
I’ve had booths at a few craft fairs and have had some great experiences with my Etsy shop. Crafting is a wonderful hobby, and it has proven fairly lucrative. My interests are varied, however, and I kept feeling the drive to do something slightly different. Writing is another of my passions, and I felt a persistent tug to incorporate that into my business in some way.
Out of all of these passions, this website was born. Part blog, part shop, all stemming from the things I love most. I hope you love it, too!
I’ll keep you updated with frequent blog posts containing craft how-to’s, recipes, home décor ideas, party planning tips, and other reflections on how to live out your passions. Please reach out to me through the site or via any of my social media channels and let me know what you like, what you don’t, and what you’d love to see more of.
I’ll keep my shop stocked with supplies and kits for some of the crafts I demo here on the blog. Life is busy, and I’d love to make it easier for you to try out a new project. Some completed handmade items will also be available for sale. I’d love to work on custom items for you. Want something special but don’t see it here? Just ask!
Sweet Frivolity is meant to be just what it seems—a celebration of the light and color that hide out in everyday moments. It’s really easy to miss them.
In curating the site, I’m hoping that I’ll improve in my abilities to take advantage of the joy that surrounds us all. Living my passions seems like a good place to start. I’m looking forward to enjoying this journey with you all.
